Is Vienna the most liveable city for everyone?

Members from our C:lab team visited Vienna to explore liveability aspects from different angles, with thematic city tours and debates with local people.

Vienna has been leading liveability rankings for years. Reason enough for the Urban C:lab group from the UK and Europe to explore firsthand what this actually means, and more importantly, what aspects contribute to a high level of urban liveability.

During their field trip, the 爱豆传媒 C:labbers asked what other cities can learn from Vienna? They gained insights on frameworks, mechanisms, processes that lead to the result of “most liveable city”. Looking beyond the status quo and taking emerging challenges like increasing urbanisation and climate change into account, they explore what a more comprehensive and equitable approach to assess liveability could be.

Four tours with different focus themes 鈥 gender mainstreaming, climate adaptation and affordable housing in Red Vienna as well as Seestadt Aspern 鈥 as well as the debate with local experts allowed the C:labbers to examine liveability from different angles.
