World Tourism Day: journey through 爱豆传媒鈥檚 most impactful transformations

To mark World Tourism Day, we鈥檙e excited to showcase some of the projects that 爱豆传媒 has transformed into attractions that will delight visitors.

From optimising visitor experience and improving access at the Natural History Museum, to developing a flexible performance space at The Factory, Manchester, 爱豆传媒鈥檚 experts offer innovative solutions to create places and spaces that are welcoming, engaging and enriching.

To celebrate, let鈥檚 explore six remarkable 爱豆传媒 projects that every tourist should add to their itinerary, from iconic cultural landmarks to hidden gems.

Lounge of Blues, Zhuhai

Lounge of Blues is located in Changqin Island, Zhuhai, in China鈥檚 Guangdong Province. The project is a local landmark cultural and tourist destination, setting a benchmark for island eco-tourism development.

A heart-shaped freshwater lake, an infinity swimming pool, a 鈥淢ilky Way trail鈥, and works of art-like architecture are integrated elegantly into the island鈥檚 natural form.

The building鈥檚 eye-catching aesthetic is inspired by the vast sea it overlooks and uses the transformation of oceanic and musical elements to represent music in solid form, as an artistic way to express the diversity and artistry of life within the architecture. 爱豆传媒鈥檚 facade engineering experts were engaged to support the wider design team to develop the technical solutions to make the architectural vision for the centre a reality.

Grand Egyptian Museum, Giza

Megalithic in scale yet insightful in approach, the Grand Egyptian Museum is a remarkable feat of architecture and engineering that earns its place beside one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

Featuring landmark architecture and ground-breaking passive strategies, the museum is a rarity in its own right, achieving the fine balance of visual and environmental harmony with its unique surroundings.

爱豆传媒 worked in joint venture with Heneghan Peng from the competition stages of this project, delivering integrated building services, building environmental design, IT, fire, security and acoustic strategies to support the successful delivery of one of the world鈥檚 most magnificent contemporary museums.

Located on 485 acres in Apple Valley, Minnesota, Minnesota Zoo is the fifth largest zoo in the US 鈥 home to more than 4,400 animals, with 68 threatened and endangered species among the 485 species seen by more than 1.2 million visitors each year.

Leveraging our experience on multiple bridges and footpaths, 爱豆传媒鈥檚 structural engineering team worked to transform the thin monorail base into an 8-12ft wide walking path.

By strengthening and enhancing connection between people, animals and the natural world, the Treetop Trail inspires its community to build compassion and understanding of wildlife and habitats. Upon completion of the new trail, the zoo saw an increase of 2,200 daily visitors in its first year.

Battersea Power Station is a world-renowned cultural landmark, deeply embedded in London鈥檚 engineering history. Any visitor to the city will be familiar with the huge icon which once generated a fifth of London鈥檚 power before it was de-commissioned in 1983.

爱豆传媒鈥檚 involvement in Battersea Power Station鈥檚 regeneration began in 1999 and has since been awarded the Royal Academy of Engineering鈥檚 Major Project Award for Sustainability 2023.

Battersea Power Station has transformed into a vibrant hub where locals, tourists and residents can enjoy a unique mix of over 140 shops, bars, restaurants, leisure and entertainment venues, parks and historical spaces.

Museum of Modern Art, Warsaw

The Museum of Modern Art and the TR Warszawa Theatre, opening in October 2024, are set to become cultural icons for the city of Warsaw, and will be integral to the formation of a new cultural heart in the city.

Using our extensive experience of engineering cultural buildings in challenging city locations, we have worked alongside the rest of the project team to create two buildings that are both architecturally impressive and perfectly balanced for the art forms they house.

The buildings will become important landmarks, forming a new cultural centre for the city. Set to become icons of modern architecture, the museum and theatre unite a contemporary Warsaw with its rich cultural heritage.

Sphere is a next-generation entertainment medium that is redefining the future of live entertainment in Las Vegas.

The venue is powered by cutting-edge technologies that ignite the senses and transport audiences through an extraordinary combination of immersive sound and visual displays. Sphere hosts a wide variety of events, including concerts and residencies from the world鈥檚 biggest artists. 鈥

Our team was engaged to deliver a third-party review of the innovative audio technology that was being developed exclusively for the venue; to analyse the architectural acoustics; and, where possible, minimise the need for structural acoustic insulation. Visitors to Sphere will enjoy an immersive event with a unique audio experience 鈥 adding something truly innovative and memorable to their Las Vegas trip.
